Hello! I would like to talk about possibility of rebuilding (actually re-writing from the sratch) our Google Sheet simple warehouse table.
I would like to share with you the copy of the existing file, but I need to know your gmail address.
What we have somehow works, because we do not have many positions.
There are three main issues:
- some of the products are not in stock, but are ordered (so, would be available in i.e. 2 weeks) - that should be also included in the system,
- our warehouse man is not fluent with computers and he sometimes makes mistakes while typing (i.e. he wants to find a product in the sheet, but instead of CTRL-F he presses SHIFT-F and this is how he "destroys" one or a few cells,
- some of the products in the warehouse is a set of other elements; from time to time we need to take away one or two subelements from the set and we would "repair" the set after the delivery (i.e. 3 weeks) - that element should be clearly marked what is missing and that it should be solved,
- to avoid (clearly differentiate) mistakes (i.e. between "iris valve" and "spare diaphragm for iris valve NR" and "spare diaphragm for iris valve Nylon")
The positions for each of the element, which we need are:
- available quantity (i.e. 4 pcs)
- back ordered quantity + order number + delivery time (i.e. 3 pcs. P-24123, 31.07.2024),
- location of the product in the warehouse (i.e. B2-D),
- owner of the product (we can have 4 owners),
- our catalogue number of the product,
- manufacturer's catalogue number of the product,
- name of the product,
- detailed description,
- group of the products (we can have defined 20 - 30 different groups and choose one of them),
- comments/notes,
- note about reservation (some of the products can be reserved by the customer for i.e. 3 weeks; note: we can have 3 elements on stock and i.e. only 1 would be reserved),
- minimum quantity (after reaching that quantity the product should get i.e. pink to attract the attention),
- rock-bottom minimum quantity (after reaching that quantity the product should get i.e. red to attract the attention as requires immediate order),
- price of the product + year of the pricelist (i.e. 78 EUR on 2024),
- name of the producer (from the list).
I am open to some other improvements, but I do not want to make it too difficult for low educated people to handle.
