Contest Brief
The website you will be designing is a peer-to-peer marketplace, called CrowdStore.net, where users can create and access numerous individual eShops created by others. Your task is to design the structure and layout of the landing page (index page), ensuring it is intuitive, visually appealing, and responsive for both desktop and mobile devices. The design must incorporate both usability and aesthetic principles to facilitate seamless interaction. Below, I outline the essential sections of the landing page, along with the functionality and design elements required for each. You should be able to provide also HTML and CSS, so it is highly recommended if you use for example figma for the entire process. Indicate if you use figma in your proposals.
General Layout and Design Requirements
The landing page should have a clean, modern aesthetic with a responsive design. Use consistent typography, harmonious color schemes, and intuitive navigation elements. All sections must flow naturally and guide the user through the primary functionalities of the platform. Ensure buttons, input fields, and other interactive elements are prominent and easily clickable. Where applicable, include placeholder text and icons to illustrate functionality.

Sections to Include on the Landing Page
1. Section to Join an eShop
This section enables visitors to access eShops created by other users. Clearly explain its purpose: users can visit a specific eShop if they know the unique shop ID (a 44-character string). Provide an input field where users can enter the shop ID and a button labeled "Join eShop" to proceed.
Visually, this section can include:
- A title like: "Enter an eShop" or "Access an eShop".
- A brief descriptive paragraph: _"If you know the ID of an eShop, enter it below to access the shop and browse its products."_
- Input field placeholder text: "Enter Shop ID (44 characters)".
- A prominent call-to-action button: "Join eShop".
---
2. Section to Create an eShop
Allow users to generate their own eShop. This section should emphasize the simplicity of the process and explain that a unique shop ID will be automatically created. Users only need to click a button to start.
Key design elements include:
- A title such as "Create Your eShop".
- A descriptive paragraph: "Want to start selling? Click below to create your eShop and begin adding products. Each eShop gets a unique ID for others to visit."
- A large, visible button labeled "Create My eShop".
---
3. Section to View Previously Visited eShops
This section displays thumbnails of eShops the user has previously visited. Limit thumbnails to a maximum of four per row, with each thumbnail showing a logo, image, or screenshot provided by the shop owner. Each thumbnail should also display the shop’s title underneath.
Functionality and design features:
- Include a brief explanation: "Here are eShops you’ve visited. Click a thumbnail to revisit, or remove it to maintain your privacy."
- Add a small "Remove" icon (e.g., a trash can) on each thumbnail for easy deletion.
- Provide an overall toggle switch labeled "Save Visited Shops" to enable or disable adding shops to this list.
---
4. Section for Orders
This section lists all items ordered by the user, grouped by the respective eShop. For each order, show the items, their prices, and the total cost. If the order hasn’t been paid for, include a button to initiate payment.
Design and functionality:
- Use a title like "Your Orders".
- Display grouped orders with the eShop name as a header for each group.
- List individual items within each group, showing product name, quantity, and price.
- Include a total price line for each order and a "Pay Now" button for unpaid orders.
- Add visual dividers between eShop groups to improve readability.
---
5. Section to Export and Import Data
Since the website operates on a peer-to-peer model, user data is stored locally on the user’s device. This section allows users to export their data as a file or import data from another device to maintain their continuity.
Include:
- A title such as "Manage Your Data".
- Two buttons labeled "Export Data" and "Import Data", placed side by side.
- A brief explanatory paragraph: "Your data, including orders and eShops, is stored locally on this device. Use the options below to back up or restore your data."
---
Additional Notes for Design
- Use whitespace effectively to separate sections while maintaining visual harmony.
- Employ icons or subtle illustrations to enhance comprehension (e.g., a store icon for eShops, a folder icon for data export/import).
- Ensure all buttons and input fields are touch-friendly for mobile users.
By following these guidelines, the landing page will not only provide an excellent user experience but also effectively communicate the core functionalities of the peer-to-peer marketplace.
