I'm a voip specialist and what you're asking here it's just not possible to do, you must understand that when a SIP device sends its authentication string to the SIP server it sends a "hashed" version of the password that is configured on the device, the server then compares this hash with the client's password on file and take an action (accept or deny). You cannot decode the hash string to find what password is setup on the phone, this would open a security hole where people could just sniff some SIP REGISTER packets and find out the password SIP password (and later make free calls); It could only be possible if you're developing your own softphone/SIP application then we could make that happen, but it will still represent a security concern. Hi, I have good experience in Asterisk, I've read your issue and I can say that there is no place in Asterisk or DB to see the wrong password of rejected peers, BUT, potentially, it could be possible to see it over the network dump (of course if the traffic is not encrypted); As far as I know, you can see only the hash, but not the password, anyway, you can check your network dump and maybe you will be lucky :) If you want, you can drop a message, but I've already described here all the issues of your project;
