Summary: Kionix () has an eval board with one of the 3-axis MEMS accelerometers. I want to be able to access this device from my Mac, but their test software only works on PCs. The IO is an RS232 port, but I'm assuming an RS232 to USB connector will work. I'm an algorithm guy, not a hardware guy, and after reading through docs from Kionix and Apple I realize that I'm in way over my head. What I want is an "object" (binary, file(s), Framework, whatever) that lets me access the full API of the Kionix device from either Java or C/C++ in XCode. I don't really care how you make it work, as long as at the end of the day I can just add a couple of files to an XCode project, put an #include in my main.c file, and start reading data, or something equally simple....
