Hi friend, finally someone realizing there's no money in daytrading forex. I've been trading it for 8.5 years now, started short-term (around weekly horizons) then gradually moved to long-term over the years (1 to 12-month horizons, or even longer if I catch the secular trend). Overall, I'm a global macro investor. I invest mostly in equities by catching the secular trends (1-10+ years), currently with most holdings in Argentina's financials, energy, and industrials, as I'm expecting these 3 sectors to lead the upcoming economic boom during the next decade thanks to Milei. Besides that, I'm riding the US high-tech trend, got holdings in the Canadian natural gas industry, Chinese internet companies, and so on. Now to the important part. The secular trends I'm scanning are based mostly on new economic and political regimes that are marking the switch from destructive leftist policies to right-wing policies that allow free markets to do what they do best - create wealth. EXACTLY the same strategy is applied to currencies - the smaller the size of the government, the less currency debasement and inflation occur. What drives the discrepancies between exchange rates IN THE LONG TERM is simply the rate of debasement of one currency relative to another.
