The design will integrate various modules and components and must be suitable for prototyping and small-scale manufacturing. Key Requirements: • PCB Design Expertise: Strong background in PCB design, including double-layer PCBs with attention to trace impedance and signal integrity. • SMD Components: Ability to work with SMD components and layout designs for efficient assembly. • Prototyping Skills: Experience designing PCBs suitable for prototyping services like JLCPCB, PCBWay, etc., with the ability to provide complete Gerber files, BOM, and other manufacturing files. • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with PCB design software like Fusion360 (Desirable), Eagle, KiCAD, or similar tools. • Circuit Design (Desirable): Ability to design and proof simple circuits for integration into the PCB. Project Details: • Size: Compact, less than 12 cm². • Shape: Standard rectangular. • Outputs: Placement of I²C, UART, and power connections at specified locations for interfacing with external modules. • Design Focus: Modular integration with attention to signal integrity, EMI minimisation, and practical layout for assembly. Deliverables: • Complete PCB design files (schematics, Gerber files, BOM). • Manufacturing-ready outputs optimised for prototype production. • Design documentation for assembly and testing. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has experience designing functional PCBs for prototyping and is comfortable working with minimal but clear technical specifications. Familiarity with impedance control, EMI considerations, and simple circuit design is a plus. Note: We will only work directly with the developer doing the design work.
