Optimize Multi-Language Sitemap

My project involves optimizing my current sitemap due to its size. I have many pages and 27 languages with prefixes like /fr, /es, /de, etc., which have contributed to the sitemap's bulkiness. Your task will be to:
- Replace my current multi-language plugin, gatsby-plugin-multi-language-sitemap, with gatsby-plugin-sitemap.
- Ensure all URLs are correctly displayed in the XML sitemap with their respective prefixes.
- Split the sitemap into smaller chunks using a sitemap index file. Each smaller sitemap should not exceed 20,000 URLs.
- Validate the structure and format of the new sitemap files against XML sitemap protocols.
I'm looking for a professional with experience in working with these plugins and knowledge about sitemap optimization. Understanding of SEO principles will be beneficial as well. Please, ensure you can handle this task before bidding.
