1. Project Conditions
Exclusive internal use: The application is intended only for the employees of the importing company. No external users will have access or be able to make purchases through the application.
Deadline: 3 weeks from the project award.
Current status: The project is already 20% complete.
Partial deliveries: At least 2 partial revisions are required before the final delivery for feedback.
2. Objective
Develop a turnkey web application for an importing company that facilitates:
- Management of customer orders.
- Consolidation of purchases made from factories.
- Administration of an inventory.
- Registration and customization of client information.
- The application will be used by a small team (3-4 people) and must include basic services necessary for implementation, such as hosting, cloud services, a 60-day warranty, and the delivery of user manuals.
3. Project Scope
The system will include the following main functionalities:
3.1 Customer Orders Menu
- Selection of products from the inventory.
- Search for products by name or code.
- Save completed orders.
- Generate a PDF with order details, including products, quantities, prices, and discounts applied.
3.2 Order Consolidation Menu
- Select multiple previously placed orders.
- Generate a consolidated PDF with all selected products, grouped by manufacturer.
- Visually identify consolidated orders using status labels or color changes.
3.3 Client Management Menu
- Register and edit client information, such as name, tax ID, address, and personalized discount.
- Assign specific discounts to each client.
- Automatically apply personalized discounts to customer orders.
3.4 Inventory Management Menu
- Add, modify, or delete products in the inventory.
- Upload and store product images.
- Migrate the existing database in Excel format (approximately 2,500 products).
Each product will include: code, name, description, manufacturer, and image.
4. Non-Functional Requirements
- Warranty: A 60-day warranty must be offered after the delivery of the application.
- Manuals: Provide basic user manuals.
- Compatibility: Accessible from major web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
5. Technical Requirements
The development must use:
- Language: Python.
- Framework: Django (Backend and Administration).
- Frontend: Bootstrap or any CSS framework for responsive design.
- PDF Generation: Tools like ReportLab, WeasyPrint, or Django PDFKit.
- Excel Handling: Libraries such as pandas for data import.
6. Hosting and Cloud Services
- Provide a secure and reliable hosting service.
- Include an approximate monthly cost estimation for hosting and cloud storage services.
