Competition Document: Mediterranean Restaurant Design and Rendering

Objective
Design and render a Mediterranean restaurant within the provided space, incorporating elements of Mediterranean culture and modern aesthetics while optimizing functionality and ambiance. Submissions will be evaluated on creativity, practicality, and the ability to address specific spatial challenges.

General Requirements
1. Space Utilization
o The design must fit within the dimensions of the provided space.
o The entrance should be reimagined creatively to maximize its potential it can also be moved
o Tables should not be near the bathroom area, as this is not a functional use of the space.
2. Bar and Kitchen Layout
o Include a long bar with an open-back design that visually connects to the kitchen.
o The bar should seamlessly integrate with the restaurant's overall aesthetic and functionality.
3. Seating Capacity
o The restaurant must accommodate 75 to 85 seats, ensuring comfort and efficient use of space.
Aesthetic Guidelines
1. Materials and Colors
o Use light wood and natural materials for a warm, inviting atmosphere.
o Olive trees or similar elements should be incorporated to evoke a Mediterranean ambiance.
o The overall design should be bright and airy; utilizing light tiles and pale wood tones to create a tranquil setting. This minimalist approach ensures that the vibrant greenery of the plants becomes the central visual highlight, adding lively bursts of color throughout the space.
2. Ceiling Design
o Incorporate wooden elements into the ceiling design, emphasizing natural and organic textures.
o Please take advantage of the skylight in the middle, using creative solutions to enhance its impact on lighting and design.
3. Additional Features
o A small glass wine wall display should be included to add sophistication and functionality.
o A fish Display can be incorporated in the area
o If space permits, a DJ area can be incorporated to provide flexibility.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Creativity and Innovation
o Unique solutions for the entrance area and areas near the bathroom.
o Innovative use of the skylight to enhance the restaurant's ambiance.
2. Functionality
o Practical and efficient layouts that support the restaurant's operations and guest experience.
o Seamless integration of the bar, kitchen, and seating areas and additional features.
3. Aesthetics
o Cohesive design that aligns with the Mediterranean theme and utilizes specified materials and elements.
o Thoughtful attention to natural light and the use of greenery.
4. Feasibility
o Designs must be practical and achievable within the constraints of the existing space.

Submission Requirements
1. Rendered Design
o Visual renderings of the restaurant interior views.
2. Floor Plan
o A detailed floor plan is needed to indicate seating arrangements, bar location, kitchen access, bathroom access, and other features.

Award and Next Steps:
The winning submission will receive the prize and an opportunity to collaborate further, with additional revisions and work to be compensated at a negotiated rate.

so everything north of the red line can be changed (beside the bathroom)???, we can design and change the layout there as we want? even the ceiling, the service area? when u said open bar background you meant i remove the wall of the service area and expose the entirety of kitchen? what about the fireplace, i think it's place is not bad but is it okey if i remove or move it somewhere else ?

  Yes you can change the layout as you want. The ceiling should remain in place but we can build something on top of it to make it look nice. Change lighting etc...everything below the redline should remain. No need to render kitchen area. The the open bar the ideanis to have some openning but that wall should be there.we need that wall in place becuasr there will he applicance behind it. It should be some kind of cut out to see he kitchen but should not be completely open. You can remove fireplace. You can change entrance. Basically its a blank slate above the redline
