Job Title: Data & Software Solutions Specialist for Autism Center

Our Autism Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based therapies—Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Therapy, Psychology services, and Special Education. Our mission is to empower individuals on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential through tailored interventions, compassionate care, and innovative solutions.
We seek a Data & Software Solutions Specialist to streamline and enhance our data management, scheduling processes, and reporting systems. This individual will also be responsible for creating a mobile application that provides real-time information to therapists, parents, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Scheduling Management
Transform our complex daily client schedules into user-friendly, automated systems using Google Sheets (including advanced formulas, conditional formatting, and app scripts as needed).
Track and manage staff attendance, client attendance, parent appointments, and multiple therapy schedules (ABA, OT, Speech, Psychology, Special Education).
Ensure real-time updates and sharing capabilities for all stakeholders.
Assessments & Reporting
Integrate various assessment tools (ABA assessments, OT evaluations, Speech & Language assessments, psychological scales, special education progress measures) into an organized digital platform.
Generate automated progress reports for each client based on individual assessments and therapy goals.
Develop data dashboards and visual summaries for both internal use and parent/guardian review.
Mobile Application Development
Design and implement a mobile application that syncs with our data systems to provide:
Real-time therapy schedules
Client progress updates
Notifications and appointments for parents and staff
Secure messaging or communication features (if needed)
Ensure the app is user-friendly, secure, and scalable for future feature enhancements.
Database & System Architecture
Create and maintain a robust database solution that securely stores client information, therapy data, staff schedules, and assessment results.
Implement data integration between Google Sheets and the central database (e.g., via Google Apps Script, APIs, or other programming solutions).
Optimize for scalability, data integrity, and data protection.
Security & Compliance
Maintain confidentiality of client records in accordance with relevant data protection standards (e.g., HIPAA if in the US, GDPR if in the EU).
Implement user access controls, secure sharing protocols, and encryption methods where applicable.
Collaboration & Training
Work closely with therapists, administrative staff, and IT team members to gather requirements and optimize workflow.
Provide ongoing training and technical support to staff on new systems, tools, and best practices.
Troubleshoot issues and implement updates/improvements proactively.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
Google Sheets & Google Apps Script: Advanced knowledge of formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, and script automation.
Database Management: Proficiency in database design (SQL or NoSQL), data modeling, and integration with web or mobile apps.
Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C# (depending on your chosen tech stack). Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
Mobile Application Development: Experience building cross-platform mobile apps (e.g., React Native, Flutter, or Ionic).
Web Technologies: Understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and back-end frameworks (Node.js, Django, Flask, or similar) is a plus.
Reporting & Analytics: Ability to generate dynamic reports, charts, and dashboards. Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio) is beneficial.
Healthcare/Behavioral Setting Experience (Preferred):
Understanding of therapy workflows (ABA, OT, Speech, etc.) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations (if applicable) or other data privacy standards.
Soft Skills:
Problem-Solving: Able to break down complex workflows into efficient, automated processes.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for documentation, training, and team collaboration.
Adaptability: Comfortable handling shifting priorities in a busy clinical environment.
Teamwork: Willing to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (therapists, admins, parents).
Additional Requirements:
Proven track record of successfully deploying software solutions or mobile applications.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
