Contest Brief

I'm seeking a creative and skilled UI/UX designer for a mobile application that merges eLearning and social networking. The app is intended for the general public, with a focus on providing an equal balance of enhancing learning experiences and facilitating social interactions.

App name will be Canary.

Language Selection
As a user, I can sign in and select the language I want to learn (e.g., French), so the app can tailor content to my language learning goals.

Song of the Week
As a user, I can discover a "Song of the Week" that is trending in my selected language, so I can engage with culturally relevant content.
As a user, I can click on the Song of the Week, and it will open a TikTok/Reel-style video with a generic background, bilingual lyrics, and translations displayed in real-time, so I can learn while watching.
As a user, I can click on individual words in the lyrics to see their translations and save them to a vocabulary list for review.
As a user, I will be quizzed at the end of the song with fill-in-the-blank questions based on the song’s lyrics, so I can reinforce what I’ve learned.

Discover Tab
As a user, I can click on the "Discover" tab to see content creators who have posted covers or lip-syncing videos in my selected language, so I can learn from their content.
As a user, I can watch content creator videos with bilingual lyrics and translations displayed in real-time, so I can improve my language skills while engaging with the community.
As a user, I will be quizzed after watching creator videos with similar fill-in-the-blank questions, so I can practice vocabulary learned from the videos.

Recording Feature
As a user, I can record myself singing along to a song, so I can practice pronunciation and track my progress.
As a user, I can choose to post my recording publicly or save it privately, so I can share my progress or keep it personal.

Social Features
As a user, I can follow content creators I enjoy, so I can stay updated on their new posts.
As a user, I can subscribe to a creator’s channel for $4.99/month, so I can access all their videos and exclusive content.
As a user, I can invite a content creator for a duet session (free or paid) at their listed price, so I can learn directly from them.

Monetization
As a user, I can access locked songs by paying per song ($0.95/song) or subscribing to a premium plan ($13.95/month), so I can unlock more learning opportunities.
As a user, I can subscribe to a creator’s channel to support them and gain access to their exclusive videos.

Ideal candidates should have:
- Proven experience in designing mobile apps, particularly in the eLearning and social networking space.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Ability to create engaging, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience with interactive content design.
- Knowledge of incorporating music lyrics and translation in an app is a plus.
