My approach for your project would be to use rotary illuminated encoders with an Arduino ESP32 board. This would allow for no switch bounce and a much more reliable solution than conventional potentiometers. I would then program the Arduino board to communicate with the rotary encoders, allowing them to control the volume and other settings of your vintage pre-amp. This would provide a much more reliable and accurate way to control the settings of the pre-amp. Additionally, I would use an LED light to make the controls more visible in low light situations.
