I am Mrinmay Tarafdar, a Mechanical Engineering student at Jadavpur University with a strong passion for data analytics, machine learning, and business problem-solving. With a diverse skill set in Python, Power BI, MySQL, and advanced MS Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables), I have developed expertise in analyzing data, building predictive models, and creating impactful visualizations. During my internship at the University of California, Berkeley, I conducted a comprehensive ethnographic study on "Remote Work, Gender, and Productivity." I managed over 98 hours of data collection, coding, and analysis, uncovering valuable insights like the preference for hybrid work models among 80% of participants. I presented these findings through detailed reports, showcasing my ability to transform raw data into actionable recommendations. I have excelled in several national-level case competitions, achieving top positions in events hosted by IITs and other reputed organizations: Winner of Scrap Squad (IIT Roorkee, 2023): Devised an innovative urban waste management solution. Second Runners-up in Fiscal Burnout (IIT Roorkee, 2023): Proposed strategies for managing layoffs and cost reductions. First Runners-up in Venture Quest (IEEE, JU, 2023): Presented a sustainable startup idea. Second Runners-up in Mars Colonization (IIT KGP, 2023): Designed futuristic solutions for human settlement on Mars. My academic projects include developing a Potato Disease Detection Model using CNN, achieving 95.9% accuracy to support early diagnosis for farmers, and creating a Tab Transformer Model to predict income levels with 85% accuracy. As the President of ISHRAE JU Students' Chapter, I have demonstrated leadership by organizing events and bridging academia with industry. Additionally, my role as a founding member of Hitoishi, an NGO, reflects my dedication to social impact. I aim to combine my technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and leadership experience to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that create lasting value.
