Hello there, I would love to help with your project. First thing to do would be to give access to the server so it connect to printer and request printing. Extension should be simple to develop as magento already provides PDF exports which we only need to print. There's no need to go through the hustle of creating and styling PDFs. I would crate a custom database to save and track the print request so we can make a queue for the orders that were not printed for any reason. The data will be set with the expiration date so the table cleans itself. Also there should be a maximum attempts on a single order that if it's exceeded the printing will move on and the alert will be sent that the order was skipped for on unknown reason. Formats can be added directly in the code, or we can make options in the backend to choose the format and additional needed configuration. Hope I will hear from you soon. Best regards, Albin.

The connection between the eCommerce site and printer is very important so the moudle should be always detected the connection. But the format of printing should be fixed, I think.
