3D Rendering & Animation in Revit

MODULES AND OBJECTIVES: Creating Perspective Views (4-1):  Know how to use the camera tool to create a perspective view.  Understand the differences between a perspective view and default 3D view.  Be able to adjust the settings of a perspective view to ensure that the camera views the desired target properly. Creating Renderings and Adjusting Lighting (4-2):  Know how to access the Render dialog and adjust settings.  Understand the difference between a Rendering and using a Realistic Visual Style. Be familiar with the various methods of saving the rendered view, both within Revit and as an external file.  Understand the effects that lighting components can have on your interior renderings and know how to adjust the properties of lights. Sun Path and Shadows (4-3):  Understand how to set a project’s location using Latitude/Longitude or the Default City List.  Know how to enable the display of shadows for a view.  Access and alter the Sun Settings for a view to fine tune the display of shadows and sunlight.  Enable the Sun Path tool to adjust the position of the sun graphically in a view. Creating Walkthroughs (4-4):  Use the Walkthrough tool to create a camera path, add keyframes, and generate animated tours.  Know how to export walkthrough animations to external files. HOMEWORK EXERCISES: Note: All Renderings in AET221 may be performed at “Draft” quality to ensure timely completion. Use higher quality settings if time permits.
