Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled freelance Object Detection Specialist to develop a comprehensive solution for object detection in autonomous driving. This project is part of a university research initiative and involves dataset acquisition, preprocessing, model training, testing, integration with ROS (Robot Operating System), and documentation.
Responsibilities:
1. Dataset Acquisition:
- Research and identify suitable datasets for object detection in autonomous driving scenarios.
- Ensure the dataset includes diverse and representative samples of various objects and conditions.
2. Preprocessing Pipeline:
- Develop a robust preprocessing pipeline to clean, augment, and prepare the dataset for training.
- Implement techniques such as normalization, resizing, and data augmentation to enhance model performance.
3. Model Training:
- Select and implement appropriate object detection algorithms (e.g., YOLO, SSD, Faster R-CNN).
- Train the model using the preprocessed dataset and optimize hyperparameters for improved accuracy and efficiency.
4. Testing and Validation:
- Conduct thorough testing of the trained model to evaluate its performance.
- Use metrics such as precision, recall, and F1-score to assess the model's effectiveness.
- Perform validation on a separate dataset to ensure generalizability.
5. Integration with ROS:
- Integrate the trained object detection model with the Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Ensure seamless communication between the model and other ROS nodes for real-time object detection.
6. Documentation:
- Prepare a comprehensive report detailing the project's methodology, results, and conclusions.
- Include sections on dataset selection, preprocessing techniques, model training, testing results, and ROS integration.
- Provide clear visualizations and analyses to support the findings.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in object detection, computer vision, and machine learning.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).
- Experience with ROS and its integration with machine learning models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing.

3. A trained object detection model with performance metrics.
4. Integration of the model with ROS.
5. A comprehensive project report.
Timeline:
