I began my career after studying Animation at CityVarsity Film and Multimedia School as a freelance Graphic Designer, creating business packages (logos, business cards, letterheads, invitations, collages, etc) while working in hospitality for added income until late 2009. I then started working for Clockwork Zoo, where I began as a Background Artist and moved to Storyboarding, doing boards for Cookie Jar’s ‘Caillou’ and for Playhouse Disney’s ‘Florrie’s Dragons’. Sadly, the company closed down in late 2010. Thereafter I returned to my Freelance Illustration and Graphic Designing until early 2011. I then became a Graphic Designer for 3@1 Business and Communication where I broadened my knowledge of designing and also learnt printing, packaging, stretching of canvas. In early 2013 I started as a Storyboard Artist, Character Designer, Background Artist, Prop Designer and Animator for Bubblegum Educational Design until March 2015.

Illustrations
Here are some examples of Illustrations I have done. I am pretty versatile and can take on most styles of illustration. I do, however, not do realistic paintings. I tend to research the subject matter of whatever I have to illustrate in order to really give accurate and well thought out flare to any illustrations I do.

A taste of th Character Designs, Background Art and Storyboarding I have done for numerous shows. Art is my forte. I love animation and comics and would spend hours on end drawing strange little characters, the worlds they inhabit and then create their adventures. Although as a Storyboard Artist I would follow a script and bring to light the visual interpretation of the story, the framing, the movement, the dialogue and the cinematography. Character Design is great fun, but the character needs to look like his personality. Ever heard of a picture says a thousand words? So too must you be able to tell the character's life story just by looking at them. Backgrounds are no different. The background also needs to match the characters. It needs to look like a world they have constructed, or an environment that had a hand in their lives.

My first company job was at first as a Background Artist and the a Storyboard Artist for Clockwork Zoo, then South Africa's largest Animation Studio. As a Storyboard Artist, I worked on 6 episodes of Cookie Jar's internationally acclaimed children's show, 'Caillou' (fifth season) and 13 episodes of Wish Films and Playhouse Disney's 'Florrie's Dragons'. Sadly, the company closed down in late 2010 and we all had to go our separate ways.
