My WordPress site hosted on a Synology NAS is experiencing performance issues. When the site is configured with an internal address (url and home in wp-options) it works perfectly and we can access the dashboard quickly and without issues. When we switch the website to using an external address then we have issues. We have set our firewall to NAT the external address to the NAS and this works fine. The website loads quickly and performs well from both inside and outside the network, so we have discounted issues with the firewall/NAT. However the dashboard is extremely slow, both when accessed via an external IP address and when accessed from an external address - two or three minutes to connect and two or three minutes to react to each mouse click once connected.
