Hello,
can someone help me with the illustration of a small child story I wrote for my son ( 2 years old)?
I am planning with 19 illustrations: one for the cover, a 18 for the story.
The book features animals and I would like the illustrations to be water painted like.
Just the important details of the background. (See a few example attached)
A few info:
- I am italian, the story will be in italian. Tuta in italian means "jumpsuit"/" suit"
- We are leaving in Germany. German children says "TATU TATA! TATU TATA" when they hear the firemen truck passing by
- My son used to call the zebra "Tuta" as he call the firemen truck
This is the story:
Tuta, the firefighting zebra
1) Once upon a time there was a little zebra living in the savanna.
2) Unlike the other zebras, she had a very strange recurring dream. She often dreamed of big, strong animals dressed in red uniforms, like jumpsuits, running to rescue others with a sound that went “TATU TATA.”
3) The other zebras laughed at her and began to call her “ Tuta,” making fun of her for those crazy dreams.
4) One day, while running through the savanna to get away from the teasing, Tuta tripped and ended up in a large puddle of red soil.
5) When she got up, she was all covered with red mud from her head to her hooves. The other zebras, seeing her like this, began to laugh even louder, “Look, now Tuta really looks like one of those red-suited animals she's always dreaming about!”
6) Humiliated, Tuta ran away, away from her herd, not knowing where she was going. She ran and ran until she got lost.
7) After hours of walking, she found herself in a place she had never seen: a big city full of animals of all kinds. There were elephants carrying packages, giraffes working on cranes, and monkeys jumping between buildings.
8) As she looked around, she suddenly saw a house on fire! Flames were rising high in the sky and the animals were all frightened. Soon after, Tuta heard a familiar sound, “TATU TATA! TATU TATA!” It was a group of big red trucks racing toward the fire.
9) Out of the trucks came the strongest animals Tuta had ever seen: elephants, lions, and rhinos, all dressed in red, just like in his dreams!
10) The firemen began to fight the flames with great jets of water, but there was still a baby monkey trapped inside the house. Tuta, still covered in red soil, noticed that the mud was protecting her from the heat of the flames. Bravely, she stepped forward, ignoring her fear, and entered the burning house.
11) With an agile leap, she grabbed the baby monkey and ran outside, rescuing it just as the fire was spreading. When the firemen saw what Tuta had done, they were speechless.
12) They approached her and the chief elephant said, “Little zebra, you were a hero today. Without you, we would not have been able to save the cub. As a thank you, we give you our siren helmet, the official red uniform and a fire hydrant.”
13) Tuta, excited, put on the helmet and uniform. Now she really looked like one of the firefighters of his dreams!
14) After the fire, Tuta found her way home and returned to her pack. She told them everything: about the firefighters, the red trucks and the sound “TATU TATA.” But the other zebras did not want to believe her. They still laughed at her, thinking it was just another one of her fanciful stories.
15) But one day, a big fire broke out on the savannah. The flames were spreading fast and smoke filled the air. Tuta was the first to notice it.
16) Without wasting any time, she grabbed the helmet, red uniform and fire hydrant that the firefighters had given her, and ran toward the fire shouting “TATU TATA! TATU TATA!” like a real siren.
17) Arriving on the spot, she began to spray water on the flames with the fire hydrant and, with great courage, managed to put out the fire, saving her entire herd. The other zebras, amazed and grateful, could no longer tease Tuta.
18) From that day, “Tuta” was no longer a name of mockery, but a name spoken with respect and admiration. Tuta had become a heroine, the firefighting zebra of the savannah!
