  Firstly, congratulations on your efforts so far! As we approach the end of the contest, I’d like to share a general note with all of you, something I’ve mentioned to some individually but now feel is important to address broadly.
  
  If your entry has received a 4-star rating, it means you’ve followed my instructions and the guidance in General Comment #2 perfectly. At this point, I don’t have any additional specific feedback to provide. From here, it’s all about your creativity and your magic.
  
  Your goal is to make us smile, have some fun watching those moments, to exceed the quality of previous years’ videos - not by oversaturating, but by creating something professional, modern, and sleek.

  It looks like all the files have been successfully uploaded!
  I’ve also created a short selection of 5 songs to use for the video.
  Please check to ensure you have access to all the folders:
  1. 01.EXAMPLE VIDEOS: Winners from 2021 and 2022.
  2. 02.PHOTOS AND CLIPS FOR 2023 VIDEO: Organized into folders for Albufeira, Oeste, and Sintra.
  3. 03.REFERENCE SONGS: A text file listing the 5 selected tracks, along with suggestions on how to use them.
  
  If you notice any issues with specific video clips (e.g., flaws in flow, pace, or flickering), please let me know.
  I can share the original file if needed, as Google Drive compression might affect some files.

     Hey @Tetiana L. I had some issues with a few videos but I solved them by just using media encoder to render them out in another format(avi, mp4 etc.) what video editing software are you using? If you are using Adobe then you may have to download a converter like "Handbrake". Hope this helps your issue

     Thank you very much for the advice. Indeed, I tried a converter, not the one you recommended, but another one, and the video saved correctly. Now I can edit it and complete my work on editing the vacation video. Thank you.

  To get into your project I have to tell you something that no one has told you.
  
  In your instructions you indicate that the final resolution is 4k, I know you are not a graphic designer, and that is why I am going to explain it to you so that you understand.
  
  A 4k resolution has 3840 pixels, the videos you uploaded to drive have 1920 pixels, that is, half.
  
  So if I stretch your video to 4k I would be stretching the video to double its capacity, this will make the quality of the video worse instead of improving.
  I want to make the video you want, I can show you my portfolio, also in Portuguese since I live in the city of Curitiba - Brazil.
  
  I can deliver your video in 4k resolution but it will lose quality, my recommendation is to deliver the result in FULLHD 1920 pixels, with color correction and with the correct codecs it will look great.
  
  I want to make your video but I need to know if you agree so that my effort is worth it.

     thank you for your input. as the majority of the files are in MP4 and in 3840x2160, i would prefer to have the video in 4k, knowing that some of the clips will have lower quality. I'm not expert in this field as you mentioned, but i assume this is a question of output or exportation. if so, we can evaluate that at the end with the winner. let's focus now on the creative part. cheers!

     hi. i have 3 folders (one with example videos from previous years; one with the locations of our vacations for you to work with; and one related to the musics). On the locations folder you have: Albufeira (Algarve coast); Oeste (west coast); Sintra - The photos and clips are already organized into folders by location to make it easier for you to work with.

  • Creative Music Use: There’s no need to use entire songs. Instead, transition creatively between parts of the songs—for example, starting with one song, transitioning in the middle to another, and closing with the ending of a third.
  
  • Music Choices: While “Feels Like Summer” sits well as a background, the other tracks might need better interaction with the footage to work well on this type of video. Try syncing beats, adding effects like camera shakes with guitars or drums, or experimenting with other creative ideas.

  After reviewing some entries, here are some general guidelines to help you refine your submissions:
  
  • I like how some of you are integrating photos, whether as overlays (like polaroids) or in slideshows.
  
  • Avoid Collage-Style Edits: We’re not looking for a collage or slideshow set to music. The goal is to create a dynamic and fun video, mimicking and elevating the style of previous years. Focus on selecting the happiest and most energetic clips, pairing them creatively with the music.
  
  • Mixing locations within the same music or screen loses the narrative. Please keep the locations distinct, using one music excerpt per location (or two max).
  
  • I appreciate your patience in going through all the raw footage. Use longer sections where they work best, but feel free to use just a few frames from others. Focus on smooth transitions that create a cohesive narrative synced to the music.

     I’m always open to new and creative ideas, so feel free to experiment with a small sample if you’d like. However, I prefer to stick to the selected songs as they were part of our vacation playlist and hold sentimental value.
