Hello talented artist.

The search has begun for an illustrator to create 14 single-page illustrations and a double-page spread for a kid's book titled 'How Jimmy Page Led Zeppelin'.

The work would start June/July 2024, although looking to source an illustrator and get costing for the project now.

Written in rhyming verse it follows a young Jimmy Page as he finds and learns the guitar, joins his first band, Art School, Session Work, The Yardbirds, and finally onto forming and leading one of the most successful bands in history - Led Zeppelin.

The book will be illustrated for kids aged 5 to 10 with an attention to detail that parents will love. Guitars, Amps, Drums, Costumes, Albums, Stadiums and more.

The ideal illustrator would be:
- Proficient in cartoon style illustrations based on real people.
- Experienced in creating multiple illustrations for a whole book.
- A fan of Led Zeppelin.

Having a knowledge of the band will make the project easier to illustrate, and also give you more creative licence to interpret the words as you see them. While I have a pretty good idea of what each illustration will contain, another creative mind that's a fan of the band will probably reveal some new angles, ideas and concepts.

Each double page spread will feature 2 stanzas in text, paired with an illustration to bring the words to life (14 in total for the 28 stanzas).

Attached is a book style version that I printed out 10 for friends and family when I wrote the original in 2022. The new project will have another 4 stanzas with 2 per page (not 3 like the attached) and the different elements will be blended together to make a full page illustration, as opposed to being seperate. Also, the images will be totally different and more in depth. The original book was put together with pretty generic images as it was done in a day.

Some stanzas describe one scene...
'From G to A' recalls their first jam together in London, August 1968 where they played an old Yardbirds cover favourite 'Train Kept a Rollin'.

While the next stanza (Whisper to the Thunder) describes a stretch of non stop work that started with their first gig at the Gladsaxe Teen Club in Denmark on September 7th 1968, ending on April 18th 1970 in Phoenix USA.

'Within a week on Gerrard Street
4 muses unsure what to play.
Then from G to A and the Train explodes...
Zeppelin is on its way!'

'They filled a few dates then off to the States,
on Festive foreign soil.
From a Whisper, to the Thunder!
then 18 months of toil.'
