About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Data Consultant to create a comprehensive span and layer analysis report for our organization. This role requires proficiency in data manipulation, Excel expertise, and the ability to structure and visualize hierarchical organizational data clearly. The consultant will work closely with senior leadership to deliver a polished and usable spreadsheet, essential for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design and create an Excel spreadsheet with ~2,200 rows, mapping the organization’s span and layer hierarchy.
Import, organize, and manipulate data from multiple sources to create a hierarchical structure.
Indent and format data to visually represent direct reports under each manager.
Provide flexibility for usability improvements, such as pivot table applications.
Collaborate with senior leaders to refine the report based on initial walkthroughs and feedback.
Ensure timely delivery of a clean and actionable document.
Qualifications
Proven experience in data analysis and manipulation, preferably in HR or organizational contexts.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including hierarchical structuring, pivot tables, and data visualization.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets accurately.
Effective communication skills to work with leadership and understand project requirements.
Ability to deliver high-quality results within tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with organizational design or HR analytics.
Familiarity with handling sensitive employee data.
Project Timeline
Consultant must be available to start immediately and complete the project within the agreed-upon timeframe.
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($75–$125/hour, negotiable).
