PDF to Annotum XML conversion

I have several types of PDF that I would like converting to Annotum XML, so that they can be imported into an Annotum WordPress site. An XML snippet follows below. All references need to be converted appropriately. Figures must be included as PNG files. Any tables must be converted. Any maths (there might a small amount if any) has to be converted also. If this initial project goes well, there will be a larger project for the conversion of a few hundred documents. How- ever, this cannot be enough to prove anything about “progress,” since it would have no theoretical framework within which to make such a claim.
