Create a KDP book cover

I have a photo I want to size correctly and professionalize for an Amazon KDP cover - 6X9 inches. I want to make it appear that an nuclear device has gone of in Seattle. The photo submitted is a sunset over Seattle, but perhaps you could adjust it to look like a blast. But not too much, for I want the reader to not know for sure if it is a very bright sunset, or a catastrophe. In the end it turns out not to be a bomb, but that is the hook of the novel. It i s important that the Space Needle, Seattle's most iconic sight, is in the relative center of the front cover.
