I am seeking a professional to draft a contract for author collaboration on a military fiction book series.
Ideal skills and experience for the job include:
- Expertise in contract law, particularly in drafting co-authoring agreements.
- Experience in the military fiction genre, or at least a strong understanding of its conventions and market.
- Excellent communication skills, to ensure all aspects of the collaboration are clearly defined and agreed upon in the contract.
- Experience in previously drafting or managing co-authorship contracts.
- Knowledge in intellectual property law to protect co-authors' rights and contributions.
The contract should cover all necessary aspects of our collaboration, including rights, responsibilities, profit-sharing, and dispute resolution. It is essential that the contract is fair and balanced, to foster a positive working relationship. The first draft has been written, and we would like to include it as the basis for the final draft.
Please include the following specific terms in the contract: the first draft provided by the client as the basic information. The contract document should be concise and not exceed 1-2 pages. Include specific profit-sharing percentages but no detailed dispute resolution methods. Please specify the exact profit-sharing percentages you prefer for each author. The contract should be drafted as a formal legal document.
Disputes should be resolved through mediation.
