I'm needing assistance to create an HIPAA compliant system for managing medical documents and communicating with other clinics and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a secure portal on my website for receiving medical documents from other clinics and doctors. I need document upload to be super easy for the clinics sending documents to me. I would prefer they not fax documents to me.
- Enable sending documents to other clinics while maintaining their quality, including color and formatting. Again, avoiding faxing. Send a security compliant email to deliver the documents I'm sending to them.
- Ensure the entire process is user-friendly for both clinics and patients.
- Verify and optimize my current workflow for HIPAA compliance.
- Implement a comprehensive audit trail system to monitor all document access and transfers.
Current Tools:
- SmartClinix as my primary EMR.
- Intermedia for phone, fax and SMS patient communications.
- Potential consideration of switching to Athena EMR.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience with HIPAA compliance and medical document management.
- Familiarity with SmartClinix and/or Athena EMR preferred.
- Ability to create user-friendly systems and processes.
- Excellent attention to detail for maintaining document quality and compliance standards.

I have a workspace account, use gmail, but I don't really care for google producs. For one reason, they don't feel user-friendly to me. If Google's Suite of services can provide most of what I'm needing I would consider the google solutions. I think my gmail is configured to be HIPAA compliant, but I'm not sure.
