I need a simple mediaplayer (ActiveX) to be called from Access-VBA. It should have following basic features: * play/stop movie (always from local file) * time control (ruler) * audio control (volume, on/off) * speed control * take screenshot/frameshot and save to given path and name as jpg Yes - I know: VLC offers an ActiveX control to do that. But it doesn't work. Esp. taking screenshots/frameshots does not work as described and it's hard or impossible to find generated pictures - and they are not jpg but only bmp. Mediaplayer ActiveX by Viscomsoft seems to do the job better, but they do not have any working support nor react on email-queries. And the control does not have basic options like time-bar, volume control, etc. What I want/need is a simple mediaplayer to call from my selfmade Access-365-application, which is just a database to maintain my private videos (saved to different usb-drives), name, describe and tag them (while watching) and take screenshots (frameshots in proper resolution) while watching/checking a single video (name and path set by calling routine based on database fields). I don't want just screenshots of a player window inside my access form. Best would be to create a frameshot e.g. using a virtual display to get optimum resolution (Example: a 1920p video is running in a small 6*4 inch window - or even smaller - the frameshot however should have the 1920p resolution).

Hello, I think the best option is the VLC ActiveX where for some purposes you could pass the required arguments. So you need to know well how VLC uses their own arguments in such way so you could get what you want. I could show you how to do using VBA. Let me know Regards, Khamid

Instead off playing the video on ACCESS form if you open the application separately that would be good i think. Hi, Based on your requirments you need media player with specific requirement like taking high resolution screenshot irrespective of window size and store in custom directory and you want to use in MS Access as Video Library. I understand it is very hard for VLC player. I can build custom ActiveX component with some open source media player to satisfy your requirement.
