Looking for solution to integrate multiple websites with google analytics where you can see in a overview if some websites are no longer tracking data on a website. preferably in an overview or sending alerts when a website is no longer tracking activity on the site. ( similar behaviour like uptimerobot) uptimerobot can see when google analytics code is integrated, but doesn't know when it's no longer tracking. Just checking if the google analytics code is present IS NOT ENOUGH I was working on a google looker studio overview with graphs of each site, but it's limited Looking for an easy scalable solution for example all the sites posting their current users in 1 google sheet for example Some ideas I found: Step 1: Use Google Analytics Data API for Tracking Activity The Google Analytics Data API allows you to programmatically access analytics data. You can query the API to check for: Recent activity (sessions, page views, events). Missing data for specific websites over a defined period (e.g., last 24 hours). Implementation Steps: Set Up API Access: Create a project in Google Cloud Console. Enable the Google Analytics Data API. Authenticate with a service account and link it to your Google Analytics properties. Write a Script to Query Activity: Use Python, Node.js, or a similar language to fetch data for all your tracked websites. Query metrics like activeUsers, sessions, or pageViews for each website over the last day. Check for Zero Activity: Identify properties where metrics are 0 or missing. Log these anomalies. Step 2: Set Up Centralized Monitoring in Google Sheets Export Data to Google Sheets: Use a tool like Supermetrics or a custom script to pull data into a Google Sheet. Schedule automatic data refreshes (e.g., hourly or daily). Conditional Formatting: Highlight rows with zero activity or missing data for quick visual checks. Notifications: Use Zapier or [login to view URL] to monitor the Google Sheet and send alerts via email, Slack, or SMS if anomalies are detected. Step 3: Automate Alerts with Zapier Trigger Alerts Based on API Queries: Use Zapier to connect to your data (via Google Sheets, Supermetrics, or a direct API integration). Trigger: Zero sessions or page views detected for a website. Action: Send a notification to Slack, email, or SMS with the website details. Schedule Regular Checks: Run the Zap every 24 hours to ensure data is consistently monitored. Step 4: Set Up BigQuery for Scalable Data Analysis If you manage over 100 websites, BigQuery is an ideal tool for handling large-scale data: Export Google Analytics Data: Link your Google Analytics properties to BigQuery for automatic data exports.
