Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Specialist with advanced skills in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to assist with an inherited Power BI project. The project involves optimizing and troubleshooting existing DAX code and updating the logic to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and review existing DAX code in an inherited Power BI project.
• Identify inefficiencies and rewrite DAX measures, calculated columns, and tables for improved performance and clarity.
• Debug and resolve issues with existing DAX logic that are causing incorrect calculations or errors in reports.
• Ensure data models and DAX logic are aligned with best practices for maintainability and scalability.
• Collaborate with our team to understand project requirements and provide regular updates on progress.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience working with Power BI and advanced DAX development.
• Strong understanding of Power BI data modeling, relationships, and performance optimization.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex DAX formulas.
• Ability to rewrite and optimize DAX for clarity, accuracy, and performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide clear documentation.
Scope of Work:
• Review and document existing DAX code and logic.
• Redesign inefficient DAX formulas and correct logical errors.
• Validate updates by testing against sample datasets and business scenarios.
• Provide a final optimized version of the Power BI project, ready for use and future scalability.
Duration:
The initial contract will be for 3 days (this shouldn’t be more than a few hours to complete)
Deliverables:
• Optimized and corrected Power BI file.
• Documentation of changes made, including before/after comparisons of DAX formulas.
• Recommendations for future Power BI development best practices.
Please prioritize improving the performance of existing DAX code by rewriting measures and optimizing calculations.
