Job Description: Enhance Python Script for Multi-Gameweek FPL Transfer Optimization
I am looking for a skilled Python or C++ developer with experience in combinatorial optimization and data analysis to enhance an existing Fantasy Premier League (FPL) transfer optimization script. The current script evaluates and suggests single transfers for the upcoming gameweek, but I want to extend its capabilities to consider multiple transfers over a defined gameweek horizon to maximize the evaluation score.
Project Scope:
Multi-Gameweek Horizon:
Introduce a parameter to define the gameweek horizon (e.g., 6 gameweeks).
Evaluate potential transfers' impact across all gameweeks within the horizon.
Transfer Depth:
Include a parameter for solve depth, specifying the maximum number of gameweeks in which transfers can be made.
Allow the script to explore combinations of transfers over multiple gameweeks rather than just a single gameweek.
Optimization Goal:
Maximize the evaluation score over the specified gameweek horizon.
Consider time decay, info value, and in-the-bank value in the evaluation, as well as FPL-specific constraints like formation rules and team limits.
Constraints to Handle:
Formation rules (e.g., 3-5-2, 4-4-2).
Maximum 3 players per team.
Limited budget with selling and buying prices.
Rolling free transfers up to a maximum of 5.
Output:
Provide an optimized transfer plan over the gameweek horizon, detailing which players to transfer in and out for each gameweek.
Display evaluation scores for each gameweek with and without transfers.
Performance:
Use an efficient algorithm to ensure reasonable runtimes despite the increased complexity of multi-gameweek optimization.
Requirements:
Programming Expertise: Proficiency in Python or C++, including libraries such as Pandas and PuLP.
Optimization Skills: Experience with combinatorial optimization problems, especially in a sports or gaming context.
Data Analysis: Ability to work with large datasets and create meaningful outputs.
Fantasy Football Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with Fantasy Premier League rules and gameplay is a plus.
Deliverables:
Updated Python script with multi-gameweek transfer optimization.
Detailed comments and documentation for all new code.
Example run with a sample dataset to demonstrate the enhanced functionality.
