Project Overview
Renderfix CoreFinder is a network-based 3D rendering management tool designed to automate the rendering process for 3D artists using 3Ds Max. It allows users to distribute rendering tasks across multiple computers in a network, manage task priorities, and monitor progress efficiently. The tool includes plugins for 3Ds Max, a desktop client, and a website for registration, licensing, and remote management of tasks.
Key Features:
Website: Handles user registration, licensing, and remote management of rendering tasks. It also provides installation files for CoreFinder.
3Ds Max Plugin: Allows users to manage rendering tasks directly from the 3Ds Max interface, storing metadata about tasks in JSON files.
Spy Plugin: Tracks rendering progress by periodically recording system stats (e.g., render time, memory usage) and storing them in JSON format.
Desktop Client: After installation, the client interacts with the network, checking the validity of files and managing tasks, including downloading the necessary resources (e.g., 3D Max files) to be rendered by networked computers.
Task Management: Each rendering task is saved with metadata, including file paths, settings (e.g., renderer, noise level), and task status. Tasks are assigned priorities and executed by available computers in the network.
Workflow:
Step 1: User installs CoreFinder and connects it to a shared network folder for file storage.
Step 2: User sets up tasks (renders) in the 3Ds Max interface using the Saver Plugin, which saves task metadata and 3Ds Max files to the network.
Step 3: CoreFinder distributes tasks to available computers on the network, managed through the central repository of JSON files.
Step 4: The Spy Plugin collects and reports rendering stats, updating the user on progress.
Step 5: The system tracks task completion and provides status updates.
System Requirements:
A network of computers capable of reading/writing to a shared folder.
3Ds Max (for plugin functionality).
A valid user account and license through the Renderfix website.
Objective: To document the technical workflow, installation procedures, and usage of CoreFinder, ensuring that 3D artists and studios can easily set up and manage automated rendering tasks across multiple machines.
