Recording Task Guidelines for Native Australian English Speakers 1. Task Overview: Content: Approximately 500+ simple sentences. Repetition: Each sentence is to be recorded twice: Once at a normal speed. Once at a slightly faster speed. 2. Speed Requirements: Normal Speed: Natural conversational pace, clear and easy to understand. Slightly Faster Speed: A bit faster than normal speech but still clear and natural. The faster pace should not result in unclear pronunciation, omitted words, or slurred sounds. No challenge-level fast speech; maintain normal speaking style. Pause Restriction: Ensure pauses between words within a sentence do not exceed 0.5 seconds. 3. Participants: Criteria: Native speakers of Australian English with authentic Australian accents. 4. Recording Quality: Clarity: Pronunciation must be clear and accurate. Accent: Recordings must represent a natural Australian accent. Light regional variations are acceptable as long as they do not affect comprehension. Tone: Maintain a natural, conversational tone without robotic or exaggerated intonation. 5. Delivery Notes: Articulation: Pronounce all words fully, avoiding clipped or swallowed syllables. Consistency: Ensure stable quality across all recordings. Pacing: Slightly faster speed recordings should still allow for clear comprehension. 6. General Instructions: Avoid background noise, echo, or other interference during recording. Speak in a quiet environment with a high-quality microphone. Follow the speed guidelines strictly to ensure uniformity across all participants. The recordings will be used for educational purposes. Please consider the following technical requirements: 44.1KHz, 16bit, wav. The final recordings should be delivered within 2 weeks. These recordings will be used for academic research purposes to analyze speech patterns in Australian English.
