I need a website that helps users to file a compensation request for delayed flights (1. delay, 2. missed connection due to a first flight delay, 3. denied boarding or 4. or cancelled flights) and to track their claims via an online portal. It also generates emails to clients based on the status of their file. But even before when submitting the claim for the first time with flight date and flight number (sources availaible like flightradar flightstats flightlabs or eurocontrol) we can already state if there was a delay, if "yes" they can proceed with the claim, if "no" they can't proceed with a claim filing.
In the backend we do the necessary to contact the airliners etc.
Key Features:
- Users should be able to input their flight details and passenger information to submit claims.
- The website should have a feature for tracking the status of the claims
- The backend database is linked to all airliners, all flight numbers, all airports and all delays based on public information.
I will not name the competition I will let you discover their finctionalities based on search term "flight delay compensation request europe"

to create a website that helps users file compensation claims for flight delays and manage their claims, here’s a breakdown of the key features and functionalities you will need based on similar platforms in Europe:
Key Features:
Flight Delay Eligibility Check:
Users can input their flight number and date to check if the flight was delayed (more than 2 hours), canceled, or led to a missed connection.
This can be linked to external sources like FlightRadar, Eurocontrol, or similar APIs to get real-time or historical flight data.
If the delay qualifies under EU Regulation EC261/2004, the user can proceed with the claim. For non-eligible delays (e.g., extraordinary circumstances like weather), they won’t be allowed to file.
Claim Submission Form:
A form to capture passenger details, flight number, departure and arrival times, airline, and the type of issue (delay, missed connection, denied boarding, cancellation).
Automatically calculate the potential compensation based on the EU regulation:
Up to €250 for flights within the EU of 1,500 km or less.
€400 for flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km.
€600 for flights over 3,500 km with a delay exceeding 4 hours.
Claim Tracking Portal:
Users can log in to track the progress of their claim, from submission to airline response and potential payout.
Include status updates like “Claim Submitted,” “Airline Contacted,” “Awaiting Response,” and “Compensation Approved/Paid.”
Automated Communication:
Set up an email system that generates and sends updates to users when their claim status changes. For instance, once the airline responds or more information is required from the passenger.
Ensure compliance with GDPR for handling personal data.
Backend Processing:
The backend needs to connect with airlines and relevant regulatory bodies to submit claims, either manually or via integration with airline customer service systems.
Collect necessary evidence (boarding passes, flight delay logs, etc.) to present a strong case for each claim.
Regulation-Based Filters:
For EU-based flights, integrate rules from EC261/2004, ensuring claims are only submitted when the criteria are met: over 3-hour delays for non-EU flights within 1,500-3,500 km, and other cases defined under the regulation.
For flights outside the EU, ensure compliance with relevant national or regional laws.
Exceptional Cases Handling:
In cases where delays were caused by extraordinary circumstances (weather, strikes), the backend can handle communication with airlines, and the system informs users if compensation is unlikely.
