if you are using a reverse proxy it can use authentication in squid proxy itself but if you are using a transparent proxy squid proxy doesn't provide any official document to support authentication I provide solutions regarding devops and IT Infrasructure and migration . From what I understand so far. You want to check the username and password then get the user to connect to one of the proxy servers ? Both can be done. A web server to check first or one of the proxy servers randomly selected to check the password. I have 30 years of experience in Internet services and squid. I think your task is doable.
