They asked me to integrate their research into the bike share platform, but because the factory outsources the platform to major cell phone companies, the platform is proprietary. So, I recommended that OIST make their own platform. This will give them many advantages, but creating a bike share platform is expensive. My hope is that I can sell them the idea of a regional bike share for which they own the platform. The more bikes on the platform, the more data they will collect, and if they own the platform then they can expand the bike share to other campuses without having to buy the bikes (if they convince other campuses to also buy a bike share and use their platform to manage it).
