Contest Brief

I'm creating a logo for a new community arts market called the Scioto Arts Market. The event is along the Scioto River in downtown Columbus, OH. I would like to include a font that is bold (so it can be easily recognizable on social media, plus event tees, billboards, and event signage) and fun (since it is a free community event that attracts vendors, visitors, residents, and artists). I also want to incorporate an icon of a deer as part of this logo, reimagined but inspired by the deer art sculptures along the riverfront (and seen here: https://www.sculpturecenter.org/oosi/items/show/1466). Instead of stoic looking animals, they should be able to stand upright on hind legs, and be in a casual, welcoming pose (standing on hind legs, possible waving and.or smiling). The deer icon should be a hunter green or similar color. The logo can also be a shade lighter green or black, or another bold color that complements the fact that the event is outdoors and near the riverfront. The deer should stand to the left of the logo, sort of leaning up again the stacked logo (Scioto on line 1, Arts on line 2, and Market on line 3), thus vertically spelling out the acronym of the event series SAM. I'd be interested to see how creative you could be with these instructions while making it family-focused and fun-looking (not cartoonish).
