Mawoko was born out of ideas developed in 2014. A registered Tanzanian company, Mawoko takes pride in its authentic and original exclusive designs. The boutique range includes traditional art paintings, locally designed footwear and specialty ethnic clothing.
Mawoko means ‘hands’ in some bantu languages including certain tribes in east and southern Africa. Hands are a symbol of hard work, care and achievement, characteristics key to our existence as a company at Mawoko. Our handmade products are made with expertise and sheer passion. Each piece aptly displays the love for detail that goes into every intrinsic design.
Our products are made by local artists and this provides a sustainable form of livelihood that enables them to take care of their families and realize their personal ambitions.
