WordPress ActiveCampaign Event Tracker

We are looking for a skilled developer to help us integrate ActiveCampaign Event Tracking into two WordPress websites. The primary goal is to track PDF download button clicks and send associated metadata (destination and date) to ActiveCampaign using their Event Tracking API. Our Needs 1. Button Tracking Requirements: • Track all PDF download buttons on two WordPress websites. • Each button contains unique metadata in the form of data-* attributes: • Destination: The name of the location (e.g., country or city). • Date of Departure: A specific date tied to the PDF. • This metadata needs to be dynamically captured when a button is clicked and sent to ActiveCampaign. 2. Integration with ActiveCampaign: • Use ActiveCampaign’s Event Tracking API to send the captured metadata. • Ensure seamless integration with our existing ActiveCampaign WordPress plugin. 3. Scalability: • The solution should dynamically detect new buttons (e.g., newly added destinations and departure dates) without requiring manual reconfiguration. 4. Compatibility: • The solution must integrate smoothly with our Thrive Themes setup and remain functional during future updates to the themes or websites. 5. GDPR/CCPA Compliance: • The implementation should respect user consent for tracking (e.g., only execute the tracking code if a user has opted in via the existing cookie consent mechanism). What We Expect 1. Dynamic Metadata Capture: • Use JavaScript to dynamically capture metadata from data-* attributes in the button HTML. • Send this metadata as part of a custom event payload to ActiveCampaign’s Event Tracking API. 2. Efficient Integration: • Implement a robust, lightweight tracking solution. • Ensure the code is scalable and maintainable, allowing us to add new destinations or buttons without requiring significant adjustments. 3. Testing and Debugging: • Verify that events are properly recorded in ActiveCampaign. • Handle errors gracefully (e.g., log failed API requests for troubleshooting). 4.
