Scope:
Extract plugin files from a website in production enviroment who probably are not the same version as the original, so I need to find and copy those files.
I need an Applescript who:
Ask for a REFERENCE folder (who contain the original files)
Ask for a SOURCE folder (who contain files in production enviroment)
Ask for a DESTINATION folder (the place where I would like to store the copy)
Then perform a scanning of structure directory and files in the REFERENCE folder, and copy from the same relative path files and folders from SOURCE folder to the DESTINATION folder.
If some file does not exist in the SOURCE folder, the errors are written in a text files in the root of DESTINATION folder, with the relative path of the REFERENCE folder
PLEASE NOTE: don't send me automatic reply, if you don't demonstrate who you read and understood the project, I will reject your answer.
Ciao Matteo,
So you want a program that copies files from SOURCE to DESTINATION, while checking it against a REFERENCE - and if anything is missing, write errors to text file.
Do you also want the script to calculate MD5-hashes to verify the files are identical?
Also, would it be permissible to use JavaScript for parts of this task - as long as it runs on OSX?
Hope to hear from you,
Seb
