Illustrations for my van

I'd like to commission an artist to do a few illustrations for me. I'm 50 years old, and getting a divorce from a girl that I've been dating since we were 13. We are still close friends, but it is time for us each to go on our own separate journeys. I bought a van and I'm planning to travel the United States and beyond. I want my van to be an extension of me. It will be my full-time home for a while. I'm looking to commission an artist to do a few illustrations to use as decoration on the exterior of my van. I love the ocean, and my dream is to travel around the world in a sailboat. It's a dream that both excites me and scares me. But in my dreams I picture myself as an old man, the captain of my own boat (my van for now) sailing away from the island that I built for my own - but now it no longer can sustain me. Sailing into the vast sea. I love the ocean, and I'm a surfer - I envision my boat as single sail, with my surf board strapped to the side - with both a storm and beautiful sunshine on either side of me - but more clear skies ahead. To be honest, I feel a little lost, and apprehensive about this journey - but at the same time, I feel driven and confident, that my destiny lies somewhere beyond the horizon. So I want an illustration that shows me (think of a weathered old man, of the sea, with a beard.)
When I was a child I lived in Hawaii, and spent so much time in the ocean, surfing and diving. As I got older, I spent time traveling around the south and north western United States. There were many amazing wonders - beautiful landscapes that just stunned me. I remember feeling in awe of the mountains, and the wildlife - the trees and powerful rivers, the buffalo. I hiked many trails, and climbed some of the mountains - alone, searching for something. At the time I wasn't sure what it was - I don't even know that I knew I was searching. But eventually, that search always led me to guide me back to the girl I met when I was 13.
I don't know where my search will lead me next... i'm older now, and while I feel like i've learned so much, I still feel like the universe has much to teach me.
I'm looking to commission an artist to do some illustrations that represent my journey, and my life. I think I'm looking for two different illustrations - one for each side of my van - black and white/grayscale. I can provide work that I've seen, that I like - in terms of style - but at this point I'm open to any creative take on it. So, maybe one illustration for the past, and one for the journey ahead? The past is in the mountains, and the plains and desserts, and the future is on the ocean. Again, I'm hoping to put the artwork on the sides of my van (as well as hang them as decoration in my van.)
