TIMELINE: Hot, humid day with scattered showers, storms in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - It's a warm and muggy start to our day in Central Florida with temperatures in the upper 70s as you head out the door. 

For this afternoon, it will be another rinse-and-repeat kind of set-up with hot and humid temperatures paired with scattered afternoon showers and storms. 

Highs today will be a few degrees above normal, reaching the mid-90s.

Once we factor in the high humidity, the heat index will range from 103°-107°. 

Today's storms will begin to blossom and bubble up during the early to mid-afternoon hours. These will gradually grow more widespread and steadily shift further to west near the I-75 corridor, before eventually dissipating during the late evening.

As we gear up for Independence Day, our stretch of steamy and stormy weather continues.

Highs will hold steady in the mid 90s as heat indices climb into the low 100s, plus afternoon rounds of showers and storms just about every single day this week.
