Greg Payne joined the FOX 29 News team in October 2023 as a general assignment reporter and anchor.
Greg moved to Philadelphia from Kansas City, MO, where he was an anchor and reporter at CBS affiliate KCTV5. Prior to that, he worked as a reporter at WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, NC; and News 13 in Stroudsburg, PA.
Throughout his career, Greg has covered some memorable stories including: the 2017 Presidential Inauguration; the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA; the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina; the Reverend Billy Graham’s Funeral; Super Bowl LV in Tampa, FL; and the protests and riots occurring in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.
Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Quinnipiac University in his hometown of Hamden, CT.
Greg enjoys trying out new restaurants and attending local sporting events. His fandom includes the Houston Rockets, NY Yankees and NY Giants. He spends his Sundays attending church before watching football and playing fantasy football with friends.
