Woman shot, killed in robbery at Tukwila Costco
TUKWILA, Wash. - Tukwila Police say a woman was shot and killed in some type of robbery at the Tukwila Costco on Friday.
Police say around 10:41 a.m., a woman was shot in the chest at the Costco parking lot near Andover Park East.
Officers administered life-saving measures on the woman, but she later died at the scene.
She was later identified as 67-year-old Yuam Ming.
Tukwila Police say a male suspect fled in a white vehicle on Andover Park E. in an unknown direction.
An official with Tukwila Police said it appears the shooting was connected to some sort of robbery.
For hours following the shooting, people continued to shop at the Costco, some unaware of the violence that occurred feet away.
"I don’t even know what to think. It’s kind of scary, I don’t think I’ll be going in today," said Katie Hof, who was walking into the Costco until FOX 13 News told her about the incident.
Around 1 p.m., Costco shut its doors to customers.
There are several surveillance cameras in the Costco parking lot. FOX 13 News asked Tukwila Police if there are pictures of video of the suspect. The police department said the case is still under investigation, and they are not aware yet if there is footage of the incident.
This incident is the second shooting in Tukwila in about 12 hours. Tukwila Police reported someone was shot around 9:50 p.m. on Macadam Road.
This is also the second murder in a Tukwila parking lot in about two weeks.
Last week, FOX 13 News reported about a taxi driver who was stabbed to death and his cab was stolen. The suspect in that case is also still on the loose.
This is still an active investigation and police will release more details as they become available.
This is a developing story.
