The city of Chandler proclaimed Sept. 23 as Preston Lord Day. The teen's life is being celebrated at The Stillery in Chandler on Monday night. FOX 10's Lindsey Ragas has this story.

Nearly a year after his death, Preston Lord will be honored on Sept. 23 in Chandler at The Stillery, located near Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard. There will be a butterfly release, speakers and a celebration starting at 5 p.m. Lord, 16, died after he was attacked at a Halloween party in Queen Creek. Seven people have been charged in Lord's death.

In the past two weeks, 17 threats of violence have been made within Mesa Public School – the Mesa Police Department is calling this an online nationwide trend. FOX 10's Nicole Krasean has the latest.

Almost a year after an incident that led to Preston Lord's death, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell is proposing a new state law that she says will help target teen violence. FOX 10's Brian Webb has more.

The Tempe City Council unanimously voted on Thursday night in favor of banning the sale of brass knuckles for minors. The ordinance, passed on Sept. 5, prohibits minors from possessing or buying brass knuckles, or any similar item. Similar bans have gone into effect in other east Valley communities, including in Gilbert and Chandler, after a rise in teen violence incidents.

A judge in Maricopa County has agreed to lower the bonds for three suspects in the Preston Lord murder case, despite a plea by the victim's family. FOX 10's Ashlie Rodriguez reports.

Some of the suspects in the Preston Lord murder case will be in court on Tuesday where their lawyers will argue for their client's bond amounts to be reduced.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is rolling out a new campaign called "Report, don't repost" to curb teen violence. It comes after teen violence has plagued the east Valley, which was brought to light after 16-year-old Preston Lord's death last October. FOX 10's Lindsey Ragas has this story.

Teen violence has been top of mind for many parents across Maricopa County. On Aug. 14, one of the largest collaborative efforts to combat it was unveiled. The announcement involves 13 law enforcement agencies as well as the county attorney's office. FOX 10's Ellen McNamara explains how it'll work.

Preston Lord, 16, was beaten at a Halloween party in Queen Creek last year. He did two days later at the hospital. According to a medical examiner's report, Lord died from multiple blunt force injuries. The medical examiner concluded his death was a homicide. Seven people have been charged with murder in Lord's death.
