Visão geral

A water treatment company provides clean and safe hydration via offices throughout the Americas and Europe. The company is growing rapidly, and businesses it acquires typically continue to operate independently. This was increasing the complexity of network management and tech support, so corporate IT established a centrally managed Microsoft Azure cloud environment and began requiring business units to move applications into it.

A longtime customer of FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls, the company decided to utilize FortiGate virtual machines (VMs) to protect assets in Azure. The IT team was concerned about overprovisioning the firewalls, as the size of its Azure environment is dynamic. They began buying Fortinet solutions through FortiFlex usage-based licensing. Now, the company can size each VM appropriately for its current needs, and if it purchases more FortiFlex points than it uses in a given year, the points will roll over to the next year. The company is spending 15% less on FortiGate VMs than it would without FortiFlex, and provisioning security solutions is much faster companywide.

“FortiFlex solved the issue of overprovisioning our new infrastructure and then being stuck with a license that was larger than we needed. Using FortiFlex to pay for our security architecture in Azure bypassed that potential problem entirely.”
