This place has a special atmosphere.
Aiko "chases" ducks here and I love the serenity and the reflections from the trees. Today the house reflected too, must have been one of the Special days this day! 😆
Yes
That's the question
I'm being a bit Shakespearian this evening
I found the perfect house, it might need some decorating and cleaning up tho, but that's ok
Sometimes I really think that hibernating must be pretty nice
You set your life on hold
You can pause a bit
Think and Dwell
Check if this addiction is ruling your life
But
Perhaps thinking isn't always the answer
Sometimes it gets all messed up if you think too much
Sometimes you are supposed to just float along
But
It surely isn't always easy
All these thoughts
You are worried
You are left out
You are too far away
You can't do so much about anything
But you care
I guess
You just need the time to go
Or
Letting him go
Either the addiction goes away or not
God knows
I don't
A paradise within the city

A very cropped image of this little House wren that stopped for a minute on the fence. It was so fast that I couldn't change my settings. (Best in large)
The house wren ( Troglodytes aedon) is a very small songbird of the wren family, Troglodytidae. It occurs from Canada to southernmost South America, and is thus the most widely distributed native bird in the Americas. It occurs in most suburban areas in its range and it is the single most common wren.
Wilton House is an English country house at Wilton near Salisbury in Wiltshire, which has been the country seat of the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years.
The first recorded building on the site of Wilton House was a priory founded by King Egbert circa 871. Through the munificence of King Alfred, the priory was granted lands and manors until it became wealthy and powerful. However, by the time Wilton Abbey was dissolved in the Dissolution of the Monasteries set in motion by King Henry VIII, its prosperity was already on the wane. Following the seizure of the abbey, Henry presented it and its attached estates to William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke (in the 1551 creation) c. 1544.
The present Grade I listed house is the result of rebuilding after a 1647 fire, although a small section of the house built for William Herbert survives; alterations were made in the early 19th and early 20th centuries. The house stands in gardens and a park which are also Grade I listed. While still a family home, the house and grounds are usually open to visitors during the summer months.

Note the white hair on her crown and breast. This appears to be a juvenile transitioning to adult plumage.
We started painting the house the beginning of July and while we still had the deck to paint, a month later the house was finished so there was no more ladder work! We started with a rainbow and ended a month later with a rainbow! 21 gallons of paint down with another 7 remaining to paint the deck!
It was a fine house with a wide porch on which to sit and survey the land. The fence once marked the edge of the yard but has no purpose now.
Happy Fence Friday!
Museum of Crafts and Creativity "House with Frames"
The museum building was built in the 1890s and is of exceptional value as a monument of historic heritage architecture. As part of the tour you will get acquainted with the history of the house, visit the "live" workshops, where man-made things are created in a variety of traditional and unique techniques. If you wish, you can order master classes and purchase original items.

Originally I thought this was a boat house because it looks like it is in the water. It has a chimney and windows though. It is constructed of wood and metal. The door seems to be too big for a house and too small for a boat. There are two buckets hanging on either side of the door. It couldn’t be a barn because you would have to take the animals through the water to get them inside. I’m stumped!
I have to find a picture of something that I can identify. There are just no write ups on these old buildings.
I went out walking and spotted three house finches enjoying the testy snacks on this tree. This is the time of year that I always have to keep an eye on these trees, as once the birds start hitting it (cedar waxwings scrub jays and house finches primarily), they don't last long!
The song of the wren is so distinctive and they are very vocal! At least in our yard.

Amos 3:10 “For they have no knowledge of how to do what is right, says the Lord, who are storing up violent acts and destruction in their great houses
Arguably the better views of the Bathing House, near Howick, Northumberland, are to be had from the opposite side. Unfortunately there wasn’t any interest in the sky looking south and so I decided to pitch up at this end. The tide was also a bit lower than I would ideally have liked, but you go with what is presented.

At Pashley Manor Gardens you will discover 11 acres of beautiful borders and vistas – the culmination of a lifetime of passion for gardening, an appetite for beauty and an admiration of the tradition of the English Country garden. These graceful gardens, on the border of Sussex and Kent, are family owned and maintained – visitors often express delight at the attention to detail displayed throughout and the intimate, peaceful atmosphere.
All the ingredients of the English Country Garden are present – sweeping herbaceous borders, ha-ha, well maintained lawns, box hedges, espaliered rose walk, historic walled garden, inspiring kitchen garden, venerable trees and the Grade I listed house as a backdrop. The gardens are a haven for wildlife – bees, butterflies and small birds as well as moor hens, ducks and a black swan. Then, of course, the plants! Borders overflowing with perennials and annuals – the look changing through the seasons, but always abundantly filled, and each garden ‘room’ planted in a different colour theme.
Pashley is also renowned for fantastic displays of tulips, roses and dahlias. Our annual Tulip Festival features more than 48,000 tulips this year! During Special Rose Week over a hundred varieties of rose swathe the walls, climb obelisks and bloom in flower beds. Then in late summer our Dahlia Days event transforms the gardens once more with bountiful, brightly coloured dahlias in every border and pot.
Add to all this a Café and Terrace with excellent garden views, serving delicious homemade lunches, scones and cakes; Sculpture and Art Exhibitions; a Gift Shop with Plant Sales; and a friendly, knowledgeable team waiting to welcome you, and the recipe for a wonderful day out is complete.
