Background and industry experience

Adrian's role at Fisher German is that of Finance Director, as well as being a member of the Management Team. His main responsibilities include overall management of the financial systems, control and reporting for the Partnership, including its associated companies. Additionally, he has recently taken on responsibility for the financial aspects of the firm's client accounting function.

Adrian is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified with Grant Thornton in Leicester in 1991. During his career, he has worked in financial roles across a diverse range of businesses and sectors. This has included significant experience in the retail sector (at Next, Speedo and Corgi Toys), the sports industry (at Leicester Tigers) and more recently with a global pharmaceutical company (Cephalon Inc.), including a year-long secondment to a newly acquired Swiss subsidiary in Basel.

Originally from Bedfordshire, he went to Nottingham University to study Biological Science. In his spare time Adrian is active, enjoying cycling, mountain-walking and, until the knees gave way, tried to play hockey.

Why did you join Fisher German?
I was looking for a new challenge in a SME business which had the potential for further growth and success, and where I felt I could make a contribution towards the next stage of its development.

What has been your favourite project and why?
I have to say FocalPoint. Whilst it was hugely difficult and challenging, it has set the platform for future business system changes and development.

Garmin

Top pastime?
I am a keen cyclist

Best holiday destination?
Peru - walking the High Inca Trail in the Andes between Cuzco and Machu Picchu

One item to take to a desert island?
Music system (solar-powered, of course)

1980's Debbie Harry - a sign of my age, I'm afraid.
