Director, Division of International Training and Research

The John E. Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Director, Division of International Training and Research (DITR). Fogarty proudly supports and facilitates global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators; builds partnerships between health research institutions in the U.S. and abroad; and trains the next generation of scientists to address global health needs. 

The DITR Director is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Center's extramural research, research training, capacity building and fellowship programs. Annually the average extramural budget is approximately 76% ($71.6 M in FY2024) of the total Fogarty appropriation generally, with additional cofunding equivalent to approximately 46% ($32.9 M) of the total extramural budget from other NIH institutes and centers and federal agencies. 

The vacancy will be open until filled, but interested candidates should apply by October 20, 2024, to be included in the first review of applications.

Appointee may be a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident or non-U.S. citizen who is eligible for a valid work authorization.
