2023 Family Vacation Video Editing Contest

During our 2023 summer vacation, we captured many wonderful moments with the kids through videos and photos. Now, we want to relive these memories in a cool, vibrant, and emotional video that will let us revisit the joy of this summer over and over again.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

We’re looking for a talented video editor to:
• Create a compelling narrative with a happy, fresh vibe.
• Combine video clips and photos seamlessly with transitions, rhythm, and creativity.
• Include 2–3 commercial songs (see examples in the shared folder below) to guide the flow and energy of the video. Feel free to explore upbeat, family-friendly tracks from artists like Bruno Mars, Coldplay, and others.
• Optionally, add cool and original stock footage to enhance the story.

Key Requirements
• Length: 4–6 minutes, similar to a music video.
• Quality: 4K minimum, with polished transitions and effects that elevate the visuals.
• Transitions & Rhythm: Should align with the music’s mood, keeping the video engaging and cohesive.
• Emotion: The final product should feel polished, vibrant, and memorable, capturing the joy of our family summer.
• Stages of the Journey: Albufeira (Algarve coast): Sunny beaches, vibrant colors, and ocean vibes; Oeste (west coast): A mix of coastal and rural landscapes; Sintra: Romantic palaces, lush greenery, and a mystical atmosphere. The photos and clips are already organized into folders by location to make it easier for you to work with.

Resources Provided

To help you get started, we’ve shared a Google Drive folder with:
1. Example videos: Two projects (from 2021 and 2022) that reflect the style we love. Feel free to raise the bar—we believe in your creativity!
2. Clips and photos: Organized into folders by location for easier navigation.
3. Reference songs: Tracks from our vacation playlist to inspire the energy and mood.

Important Notes
• Contest Process: This contest is designed to shortlist entries and find the video that puts the biggest smile on our faces.
• At this stage, don’t worry too much about perfecting every detail. We’ll provide general feedback to help guide the selection.
• After choosing the winner, we’ll collaborate closely to refine the video and finalize it.
• Future Opportunity: The winner will also be invited to produce the 2024 edition, giving them the chance to continue working with us on future projects.
• Personal Use Only: This is a personal project for family use and will not be shared publicly. You can use commercial songs and footage without licensing concerns.
• Focus on Emotion: Deliver a polished, emotional, and memorable video that captures the essence of a joyful family summer.

Please check to ensure you have access to all the folders:
