The Regional Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Latin America and the Caribbean today inaugurated the third version of the FAO Transforma Fair. This event sought to highlight inspiring projects that have achieved results and can be replicated and scaled up in different countries of the region.

This event, which lasted two days and was attended by more than 600 participants, was a strategic space that fostered a sense of inclusivity and collaboration. It focused on addressing food security with an inclusive perspective, highlighting the importance of innovative and collaborative responses that can transform current conditions and ensure a more sustainable future.

The opening ceremony was attended by Eve Crowley, FAO Deputy Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean and Representative of FAO Chile, who said: "The FAO Transforma Fair is a space for knowledge management to exchange learning about transformative and replicable experiences at the regional level. We recognize the knowledge of the Organization and the territory as an invaluable capital built through reflective and collaborative instances. Thanks to this, we will be able to continue improving the quality and efficiency of the technical assistance and support that FAO offers to the countries.

Crowley added: "None of this would be possible without the support of our partners and cooperating partners. Their collaboration allows us to move steadily towards greater food and nutrition security, improving people's livelihoods and strengthening the transformation of food and agriculture systems in our region.

The fair, organized thanks to the joint effort of the FAO Campus Knowledge Management team and the Resource Mobilization Unit of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, selected ten projects from more than 25 applications. These initiatives, from Chile, Barbados, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, stand out for being innovative, scalable, and supported by various sponsoring entities and are aligned with FAO's four priority areas: Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and Better Life.

This event highlighted the relationship and joint work with different FAO resource partners. Representatives of leading international cooperation funds and agencies participated in the two-day fair, sharing their experience and commitment to the goals of sustainable development at the global level. This space for dialogue emphasized the importance of strengthening current collaboration mechanisms and mobilizing resources to achieve these goals through the financing of projects such as those presented at the fair.
